My passion for food began with a very interesting childhood in Spotslyvania, Virginia. Memories of growing up there resemble everything from our half-acre vegetable garden in my back yard where freshly grown cucumbers became the summer’s best pickles... to picking ripe strawberries in my neighbor's patch.
In building the Brand The Rubber Spatula Bakery, I truly found a niche, an outlet, for my artistic roots by opening this small company, then called I Heart Cupcakes. Growing from a hobby to the beginnings of a small company has taught me invaluable lessons about the business world and has opened the door to express myself.
